How about deactivating the metadata generator handler by default (or
not including it in the default config) in future releases?
(Though activating it in an extra step only to generate a metadata
template /once/ will likely be equivalent to ripping the code out
completely.)
The metagen script could use some documentation (I planned writing a
man page, as it is you need to read the source to find out what it
does and where; I also though about proposing to follow Debian's lead
and move the scripts to /usr/bin for RPM packages) but other than that
it should nicely fill the generator's shoes?
