Hi Chad,

By config file, do you refer to one of the "lite" property files as mentioned in <https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/SHIB2/IdPSimplifyConfig>? If one of these was created beforehand by the script and placed into the IDP_HOME/conf directory, would that bypass the installer asking the questions?

Thanks,

Steve

Probably not to the installer, no. The way I'd expect a scripted set up
to work would be to just generate the config file itself and then run
the installer.

Hi Chad,

Sounds good, thank you for the update. One small question below...

:
Following are the things I currently plan to change/edit:
:
- Installer will ask for the following information during initial
installation and save it to a properties file in the IDP_HOME/conf
directory:
- server host name and optionally port
- front-channel SSL certificate and key
- metadata URL and optionally verification certificate
- LDAP URL (includes host name, port, and basedDN) and optionally
username and password
- IP address of other cluster nodes and cluster password, both optional

Will it be possible to (optionally) specify values for these settings
through command line arguments passed to the installer? Could be helpful
in certain circumstances to facilitate scripted operation of the
installer.

Thanks,

Steve
