Well, shib2 has libstdc++-3.2.2-2 installed.  You said you had
libstdc++-3.2-7, right?  It's not a surprise that it's not working.

I don't know where scott found this 3.2.2-2 RPM.  RH9 ships with
3.2.2-5.

Lovely.  I love it when people build against latest-and-greatest....
I suspect we're going to have to rebuild against a RH8-based gcc-3.2
compiler.  Fun... (NOT!)
