Thanks Puneet,

I now need to add your new FQDN ( repos1.indiacms.res.in) to the appropriate host group.

I think you have everything done correctly from your end but I am not yet seeing the new name show up in PWA.
FYI, I need to update our docs.  It was correct with v4.1+ to just do:

The 'psconfig remote list' can then verify ( as you showed ) the both DNS names are present in the psconfig agent configuration.

I will track down why we are not yet seeing your new host and add your host ASAP.

Thanks,

Shawn

Dear Shawn and Andrew,
Thanks for suggestions !

Yes Shawn, I'm using same server with dual-nic. As you mentioned I've assigned separate DNS names to NICs:
1. repos.indiacms.res.in  - for - Latency
2. repos1.indiacms.res.in - for - Bandwidth

I've registerd them in GOCDB. So, will this new NIC get registerd for bandwith test automatically ?

My meshconfig-agent file:

[root@repos ~]# cat /etc/perfsonar/meshconfig-agent.conf
<mesh>
    validate_certificate 0
    required 1
</mesh>
<mesh>
    validate_certificate 0
    required 1
</mesh>
[root@repos ~]#

 I've also added them manually in mesh configuration (I'm not sure whether I should do or not):

[root@repos ~]# psconfig remote list
=== pScheduler Agent ===
[
   {
   },
   {
   }
]

Hi Puneet,

It sounds like you are intending to use this one server for both latency and throughput testing (you mentioned dual-nic)?

Currently the DNS name repos.indiacms.res.in is part of the WLCG CMS Latency Group and participates in latency testing.

If you want to have the same machine participate in Throughput testing, please assign a new DNS name to the second NIC, following the instructions here:  https://opensciencegrid.org/networking/perfsonar/deployment-models/#multiple-nic-network-interface-card-guidance

For WLCG hosts we also need you to register the new DNS name with GOCDB:  https://opensciencegrid.org/networking/perfsonar/installation/#register-perfsonar-service-in-gocdb

Let me know if you have any questions or hit problems doing any of this.

Shawn

Hi,

I don’t see any throughput tests defined in OSG mesh file it uses: http://psconfig.opensciencegrid.org/pub/auto/repos.indiacms.res.in

My guess is that either that host is supposed to be latency only and shouldn’t have the throughput check or the throughput tests never were added. I CCed Shawn McKee since he manages the OSG meshes and probably can help clear-up the right answer.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi,

I've setup new perfsonar node in dual NIC with IPV6 enabled, currently I'm getting following errors, kindly suggest if any configuration/else issues in it:

a) UNKNOWN - Exception caught while executing plugin (Unable to get mesh members for particular event type: throughput)
b) UNKNOWN - Exception caught while executing plugin (Unable to get mesh members for particular event type: packet-trace)

2. I could not see any throughput activity in my server :- http://repos.indiacms.res.in/toolkit/

I think both issues are relate to each other (not sure).
