Hi,

It still sets one up on CentOS 7 just so it has all the proper versions of the dependencies it needs. You don’t need to run the same commands you have to run in CentOS 6 to enable SCL python2.7, but you still have to run the “activate" command to get in the virtual-env.

Thanks, I will give that a try when I get into the office today. But I thought you needed the virtual environment only because of distros with python 2.6 (I.e centos 6.x) and since centos 7.x had a 2.7 python setup I skipped that.

For this one, no need to install anything via pip, simply run the following:

cd /usr/lib/esmond

. bin/activate

python esmond/manage.py add_ps_metadata_post_user perfdata

That will get you in esmond’s python virtualenv, which has everything installed that you need. We already have an issue to update the docs everywhere to say that, just hasn’t made its way in yet, sorry for the confusion.
