Hi Brian,

I've seen similar behavior in some tests we ran between our perfSONAR servers (see plot attached). I double checked, but I haven't seen errors incrementing in the links during these periods.

In our set up we use separate NICs to run OWAMP and BWCTL tests, so there's no interference between the tests.

I didn't have a chance to run the tests with IPv6 (just to compare), but I don't believe this could be an IPv4 issue affecting the tests.

Does anyone on the list have any clue?

Assunto: [perfsonar-user] periodicity in packet loss measurements.

We are seeing a regular packet loss on our hosts running latency measurements which occur around midnight ( effects the bin measurements between 2300 and 0100).

Analysis leads us to believe that this is a problem with the setup of our host rather than a network issue. ( happens on both IPv4 and separate ipv6 infrastructure. It effects  measurements  both LAN and WAN  measurements.)  The attached plots show some of the effected links.  (This signal was a lot clearer last week  buth we have had some extra packetloss  this week creating background losses to this signal.

Has anyone see a similar effect before?

Brian
