Just to clarify, nothing is in transition as both perfsonar-meshconfig-guiagent and perfsonar-meshoconfig-agent do different things and are still relevant. The perfsonar-meshconfig-guiagent generates your maddash configuration file at /etc/maddash/maddash-server/maddash.yaml. The page you referenced is solely about generating the maddash configuration so it only discusses the GUI agent. In contrast, perfsonar-meshconfig-agent provides the tool to generate your /etc/perfsonar/regulartesting.conf file.

As part of a fresh rebuild, I was following the details here:

those refer to setup of
perfsonar-meshconfig-guiagent
the previous/older is
perfsonar-meshconfig-agent

The process of generating a new configuration with
the -guiagent version doesn't, by default, rebuild
regulartesting.conf
The -agent version does. That was my problem.
