The current chair is Ken Miller, I've cc'd him on this reply. Feel free to follow up with him, or with me if you think I can be of help. (I'm not positive who the current Internet2 flywheel for the group is, but am happy to help out..)

Got it, thanks for the clarification, and apologies for misinterpreting.

I hope to write it up to serve both an educational function and as the
mission statement of a new parallel LAN measurement task area.

What I could use is some help in how to make that new Performance Measurement
Group task area happen. Probably need to talk to some I2 folks for that.

It's the very lack of such documentation that helps propel
this thread along
I'll ignore the fact that was basically a rude swipe on a public
list by someone who obviously doesn't like what I'm proposing.
Dan - I'm sorry, that wasn't my intent at all. The fact is, I don't know
enough to know whether I shouldn't like your proposal or not. In
point of fact, I'm quite interested in what you've said in this thread.

Frequently when people ask you to write white papers, it's a
not-very-subtle way to get them to shut up and go away and
waste their time.
Not at all. I want you to educate me so that I understand. A
white paper could be tremendously helpful in that regard.
