Hi Zhi-Wei Lu,

You will also need to copy /var/lib/cassandra. Also make sure that postgres is up-to-date before making the transition otherwise you might get unexpected results. See http://docs.perfsonar.net/multi_ma_backups.html#migrating-data for these details and more on migrating measurement data.

Also, in /opt/perfsonar_ps/regular_testing/etc/regular_testing.conf, you will want to make sure your old IP/hostname is replaced with the new information. If you are using the MeshConfig software, this will happen automatically when the configuration is generated. Otherwise, you will need to update it manually.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi all,

I would like to replace one of our new perfsonar node from the new test IP to the existing production IP.

I plan to do the following:

1.      Prepare new ip/hostname ssh host-keys for both hosts (swap) not activated yet

2.      Updating both systems and reboot

3.      Switch  into single user mode (/sbin/init 1) and start network (I can do this in an IPMI console)

4.      Save /opt/esmond, /opt/perfsonar_ps, and /opt/rh, /var/lib/pgsql, on both servers

5.      Copy (exchange) data from both servers

6.      Shutdown the network, swap cables and activate new network for both servers

7.      Reboot both servers

Is there anything that I miss or overlook?  Thank you for your help.
