Yea, I'm definitely coming from a .edu address. Trying without -b doesn't change the behavior. I suppose I could contact some folks at ESNet.

Thanks for the response. For some reason my sessions are denied,
which I think I mistook earlier for most sites not providing UDP
test endpoints at all. For example:

bwctl -c llnl-pt1.es.net <http://llnl-pt1.es.net> -u -b200m -T iperf3
...
bwctl: SessionRequest: Denied by llnl-pt1.es.net
<http://llnl-pt1.es.net>

are you coming from a uw.edu <http://uw.edu> address? That should work.

Maybe try without the -b option and see what happens.

Even if the session was allowed, 200Mbps isn't much of a test for
what I'm testing. I was hoping for 1-5Gbps, but that might be asking
too much.

Yeah, thats too risky, as Dale pointed out. There might be a tight link
in the path that that would torpedo.

You can run UDP tests at speeds up to 200Mbps to the ESnet
test hosts.

List of hosts are here:

Sample command:

bwctl -c llnl-pt1.es.net <http://llnl-pt1.es.net>
<http://llnl-pt1.es.net> -u -b200m -T iperf3

bwctl: Using tool: iperf3

bwctl: 41 seconds until test results available
