perfSONAR User Q&A and Other Discussion

I am having the exact same issue as Xavier initially reported, and have
followed the Administration guide referenced by Lukasz.

Regardless of what I enter at the authentication popup window, I cannot seem
to authenticate to subsequently carry through with the initialization of the
eXist database using "admin" with a blank password, perfsonaruser/perfonarpass
or any combination of users/passwords that were entered during the install (or
any other usernames passwords that I grep'd out of the war directories in
tomcat5.5).

Tomcat was stopped and restarted after any changes were done.  Yet I'm stuck
at the step #6 in the LS setup in the Administration Guide (and the
initialization of the eXist database) - and the "Testing your Deployment"
step.

The error message posted by Xavier is identical to what I encounter.  

Can anyone suggest what steps I could take to better track down the issue?
