There is a copy of the command line client (diag-client) for npad on
the knoppix disk image.  When I run it, it tells me:

> Using: rtt 10 ms and rate 20
> Connected.
> Protocol error: bad handshake.
> Please make sure you have the latest client,  and you have the correct 
> port number.


 That port number works with a browser connection.  I'd look for the 
client version,
but it doesn't seem to have one -- and in any case, I don't know what 
the current
version should be.
