umm...I shouldn't have removed the older version of these files so quickly..Sorry. I will put them back.

We are preparing RC2 of perfsonar bundle. Hence all these changes.

Hello,

Just a small remark ...
PerfSONAR services tar.gz files have changed in URL: http://www.perfsonar.net/download/bundles/

perfSONAR-CLMP-1.1.tar.gz 23-May-2007 14:10 11.3M GZIP compressed docume>
XML-LS-1.1.1.tar.gz 22-May-2007 12:10 11.6M GZIP compressed docume>
perfSONAR-SQL-MA-1.3.tar.gz 22-May-2007 12:10 17.4M GZIP compressed docume>
perfSONAR-RRD-MA-2.2.tar.gz 22-May-2007 12:10 16.6M GZIP compressed docume>
JAVA-SSHTELNET-MP-1.1.tar.gz 22-May-2007 12:10 12.7M GZIP compressed docume>
perfSONAR-CLMP-1.0.tar.gz 16-May-2007 14:15 11.3M GZIP compressed docume>
DFN_Perl-Base_BWCTL-MP-0.2.tar.gz 16-May-2007 14:15 2.3M GZIP compressed docume>

However, this changed is not reflected in perfsonar-bundle-2.0-RC1.tar.gz bundle installer ...
So this rsult in getting ERROR 404 when trying to fetch the package during 2.0 RC1 installation.

Is there a way to have perfsonar-bundle-2.0-RC1.tar.gz updated ? (This is just for coherence issue...)
(My 2 cents work around is just to edit manually install.pl file and correct the package version.)

My advice would be to fetch package using a REGEXP. For example:
perfSONAR-RRD-MA-2.2.tar.gz ==> perfSONAR-RRD-MA- X.Y.tar.gz
JAVA-SSHTELNET-MP-1.1.tar.gz ==> JAVA-SSHTELNET-MP-X.Y.tar.gz

Thanks.

Loukik,
Thank you.

No problem at all ! This gave me the opportunity to read the install.pl script.
I Don't know but what do you think about my "REGEXP thing" suggestion ?
(Sorry, I responded to your previous email very quickly).

Thanks for the suggestion. I am working on introducing a similar idea on the server side.

In RC2 of the bundle installer, the install.pl will ask a php file for a product and a particular version. The php script will redirect the user towards the right location (it can either be the main download directory for services - latest versions will be stored there. Or it could be the archive directory - for older versions of our services). We can then periodically review our archive and remove older unsupported versions and make necessary changes on the php file.

The issue with having all this REGEXP checking and implementation on the install.pl is that if we have the latest version of the file but don't want the install.pl to use this version, it will be very difficult to control it. Makes sense?

In addition, it seems that I still have issue with TELNET/SSH installer...

May I can show you next week ? Would you be part of the TRAINING session in BERLIN (Maybe as instructor ?)

Regards/Frederic
