Hi,

[Vedrin and Nina are in the cc]

Take a look into the MA.conf file in perfSONAR UI package. You will find a list of entries - one per deployment. Follow one of the examples and try adding yours to the list. Make sure you add all the other parameters as well. The perfSONAR UI user guide contains more information about this. You can find it in the attachment (Its also on the wiki).

If you have any doubt, feel free to ask. Please copy list so that the information is available for others who might need it as well.

Loukik.

Hi Loukik.

On the presentation about the RRD MA installation, made by Roman Lapacz, on
the conclusion he mentions "Integration of your service with perfSONAR UI". I've been trying to do this integration, but i'm having many difficulties.
Is there some documentation about this, on what files must i edit in order
to make the MA read my "home made" rrd files, and then respond to perfSONAR
UI with their data?

Thank you,
Luís Marta.

Subject: [pS-dev] 1st perfSONAR Hands-on workshop

Hi all,

We delivered our first hands-on workshop on 27th September to SEEREN2 Summer School participants in Heraklion, Greece. The workshop included a two hour lecture on perfSONAR followed by hands-on lab sessions on perfSONAR UI visualisation tool and RRD Installation lab. We had 16 participants, all of them from the Balkan area and most of them hadn't heard about perfSONAR before.

More information and presentations can be found here: http://www.terena.nl/activities/seeren/programme3.html.

The lab sessions were the most challenging. Apart from planning the delivery of the lab session, we had to setup an infrastructure (included separate accounts on workstations, testing, etc) which could support the expected 25 attendees. The most interesting experience was in maintaining the pace of the lab sessions. Some of the participants were quick in finishing the steps while others needed some help.

At the end of the day, we are happy with way in the workshop was delivered. All the participants seemed to have an idea of what perfSONAR is all about, they successfully installed perfSONAR 1.0 (Measurement Archive only) and they learnt to use perfSONAR UI. We now hope that as a result of this, we get more organisations to deploy perfSONAR software.

The feedback that we received from the participants will be compiled and made available soon.

Regards,
Loukik.
