All gls appear to be unavailable not just according to the java lsclient, but 
also according
to Information service tree( 
http://dc211.internet2.edu/cgi-bin/perfAdmin/tree.cgi ). Yes the
tree still contains two gls'es but they don't appear to be in root.hints (
http://www.perfsonar.net/gls.root.hints ). Was there a ls-message storm or 
something? or is
it an actual attack? or is it happing as planned and was I kept out of the 
loop.
