Hello Aaron,

I think we confused you a bit by having two proposals(actually 3 if you count
the original)
either that or I am :)

I take it your referring to
http://wiki.perfsonar.net/jra1-wiki/index.php/Service_Self-testing proposal
at the bottom.

Verena and me where discussing the one here:
http://wiki.perfsonar.net/jra1-wiki/index.php/Talk:Service_Self-testing

I actually mentioned that it can return more then one result in the form of
causes, although
that wasn't clear from the examples. (I added more examples now.)

So both (new) proposals can return more then one return value. The difference
between the
proposals is that they approach the problem differently; jason's or
http://wiki.perfsonar.net/jra1-wiki/index.php/Service_Self-testing one is a
implementation
of the solution(specified by service desk) to a problem(use-case) that is not
really clear
to us at the moment. The other proposal is a bit arrogant in that it guessed
the
problem(use-case) and provided a different solution with accompanying
implementation.

So as I said it should probably be kicked by to the service desk to clarify
the
problem/use-case and work out a solution together in close cooperation.

Best regards,

Michael
