I reinstalled everything (tomcat, eXist and the MP), and I still get the 
same error.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

I noticed that eXist is installed in the /opt/perfsonar/services/exist 
directory and not in the /opt/perfsonar/exist directory as mentioned in 
Guilherme's mail. I never had the chance to specify where I want it 
installed though, so I suppose this is the way it's supposed to be, right?
