Does anybody have any idea what is going wrong here? I tried restarting tomcat, but it did not help. Did anyone else using eXist also run into this problem?

Do you mean with perfsonar-exist-1.1.1-1.noarch.rpm?
I used it yesterday to work with LS without problem.
