can you please specifically mention the command that needs to be allowed? E.g. "rpm -i pkg-name.rpm"

I'd like to have also possibility to edit (vim) tomcat and service configuration files

What command do you need to run for this?
You don't have any packages to install

e.g.
Tomcat: rpm -i perfsonar-tomcat-6.0.7-1.i386.rpm
eXist: rpm -i perfsonar-exist-1.1.1-1.i386.rpm
SSHTELNET MP: rpm -i geant2_java-sshtelnet-mp-1.3RC1-1.i386.rpm
change user for catalina.out (though not sure if this will be needed): chown -R perfsonar:perfsonar ~perfsonar

Change of user is done automatically by the RPMs (for the whole tree of anything that gets installed).

Hi,

We can get access to a machine for the installation testing of the services, but root access to these machines will be limited.

Therefore we need all the RPMs that must be installed and any other installations/commands that need to be issued as root for a clean install of the services.

Could you please send this information for your service(s) so that they can be taken into consideration.

Thank you very much in advance.
