'standard way' I mean using tar ball or any installation package (for example rpm). Existing Ant script for configuring an access to rel db just collects jdbc information from a user who installs the service. It does not create or change anything inside rel db.

As I said I'm not sure.

Roman, as part of SQL MA installation and testing of the default setup, initiation of SQL database is needed (create database + specific tables + users and add test content). This is similar to the exist XML DB initiation.

We want the user to be able to do this easily and in as few steps as possible. The idea is to hide the user from complex steps involved in installation and configuration of all the required dependencies.

Via the web admin interface, this will be achieved in two ways:

1. Through the wizard - all initiation steps will be carried out very easily.
2. Through the advanced option - sql admin servlet that Michalis is talking about which gives more options for the user.

I hope this makes our ideas clearer.

There is a lot to learn in how best to do all this with least effort for the user. This is the first step. We listen to feedback from users and we improve as we go.

Loukik.
