I agree. I think documentation update is the best option as this interface is not used by anybody...

Documentation update is the most appropriate action under the current circumstances (metrics don't require anything else than COUNTER and will most likely be stored at the same rate than the one mentioned in the service.properties file).

We will need to re-evaluate this once we got an on-demand functionality that requires to write into a file (e.g. an SNMP MP Available).
