oh right. Its meant to be 5.6.1 or later :) I feel a bit stupid now.

Well, as I said, its not about accurate content really but rather the depth of the content that we want to be sure is okay..

thanks for pointing it out Michalis!

Hi Maxim,

I understand your surprise. We meant to say perl version 6.2 or
later. Clearly, we forgot to put the later bit.

I'm not really sure about this but I think Maxim was surprised because
there is no Perl 6.2, in fact I believe there is no Perl 6.0 yet. But
I'm not a Perl programmer so I'm not really sure

However, our main purpose with the document is not to review the
textual content itself but rather to get feedback from various
teams on the depth provided by the document. (first time we are
writing up a spec for a product like this). We are quite certain
that the technical content will be modified/re-written to focus on
what will be delivered by perfsonar-bundle-3.0 (or whatever it will
be called in future).

Hope this addresses your point.

Loukik.

*Subject:* [pS-dev] Product
Specification Document - feedback request

Hi all. We (Loukik and myself for the Release Team and Szymon as
Development Team leader) produced a structure for a Product
Specification Document, with the following objectives: - clearly
specify the contents of a release i.e. which services, what
features, what type of installation/upgrade scripts, features of
installation and upgrade scripts; - describe how will the end
product look like; - specify what is expected from the developers
in terms of documentation; - list out all the dependencies that
each component/service requires. In summary, help client
developers in knowing what will come around, testers to know what
they will have to test, and developers (mainly) to know what they
will have to deliver. I'm sending you this document, in order to
get feedback from the various participants in the release
(release team, services developers, visualization tools
developers, testing team) to know if you feel the level of detail
is sufficient to fulfill the objectives, and to get input to
possible changes to the structure. We used perfSONAR v3.0 bundle
and RRD-MA service as an example. Everyone is welcome to take a
look at the structure of this document and give us feedback. We
are also targeting some specific people, mainly everyone listed
on the "To" field of this email. Please step forward, don't be
shy :) . We would like feedback until the end of next week - 5th
October. After this date, based on the input received and on the
perfSONAR v3.0 release strategy and policies from the Steering
Team, we will complete the document for this release, and replace
the "perfsonar 3.0" wiki page with it. Thank you and best
regards, _____________________________________________ Luís Marta
