Hi Szymon,
I've finished to move all authn libraries to perfsonar base (in the new structure) and the authentication service to the new structure too.
But, how I saw, updating the perfsonar base could be a critical process, so I want to describe the steps that I'm going to do and advise me if I'm doing something wrong:
1. Updating the svn branch. Changes are:
+ Updating all authn libraries. It's not a critical process.
+ Updating jar dependencies. The most interesting thing is some updates in XML libraries: xerces to version 2.8.0

I propose you can update the version in the base (antlib.xml). After the change I can test if it does not harm (or if you want you can test it with some service)

and xalan to 2.7.0. I've tested with the AuthService and it's all right.

this version is already used and downloaded by the base

+ Updating the class org.perfsonar.service.base.web.RequestHandler <http://web.RequestHandler>. It contains the authentication component but it was in the trunk version and it was ok. So, I think it's not a critical change.  I've tested with the AuthService and it's all right.
ok, so update it
+ Moving the Authentication Service.
2. Upload to jar-repository the new perfsonar-base-ant and perfsonar-base jars.

please keep the naming schema of the files

3. ¿Remove the previous version of those jars?

no, it's up to a developer what version they want to use

Ok, these three points are done.

If any developer finds any problem, I'll be checking this mailing list during all the day.

Any other step that I would have forgotten?

What about the configuration? I understand that if I don't have authN config in my service.properties file then the authN functionality is switched off.

Yep. So, you should switch on and set for which messages you want to require authentication.

Regards

Roman

Szymon, Roman, tell me if I can do these steps.

Thanks!

Loukik,

Could you advise from rel mgmt point of view?
