Hi all,

Maciej will be working on LS client API which was requested some time ago (including request from AMPS). We want to continue this discussion.
To help him with this work it would be nice if you could think and give us some hints how you would like to use LS through this API from the point fo view of your services. You can provide us some example requests to the LS.

Well, just to clarify, I am working on classes to create these requests. The thing I need is example queries to the LS. I want to put some of the most useful queries (XQuery) into one or several classes. Then you'd be able to use these classes to create your requests.

You don't need to send XQuery, rather what your applications need to query LS for.

Sorry, I probably won't be able to provide any more this week due to a crazy travel schedule.

I remember the discussion with Jeff and Vedrin some time ago, but a couple of days ago I lost all my e-mail at work (HDD crash) and can't recall the discussion :( (I think I'll be able to recover some data from backup copies, but...)

Apple replaced the hard-drive in my lap-top the day before I started traveling so I understand. :)

I thought Apples don't crash! ;-)

Perhaps the list archive could help?

Yep. After a few "Internal Server Error" messages I finally browsed month by month the archive. I found the e-mail.

It seems we've defined 5 queries:

1) get the addresses of services registered in the LS;

2) get the addresses of services registered in the LS and having a
given type (e.g. utilization MA, Hades MA, etc.);

3) get the addresses of services, registered in the LS, having a
given type and providing info for a given data point (e.g. IP
interface address);

4) get the full list of data points for a given service;

5) get the full list of data points for all registered services;

Does somebody have any other idea (for specific needs)?

Maciej
