Greetings,

This message is not going to go to those that are actually blocked, and I have no way to send to them currently. I will resend this when/if the black-listing is stopped.

The following users are not currently receiving email from the internet2 email server, and therefore the perfsonar-dev email list:

This typically happens when one of our users uses a 'vacation' program that responds to a spam troll. (By user, I mean subscriber to one of our lists.) We have hundreds of email lists, and thousands of users - so there is very little we can do to remedy the situation. We have taken measures to mitigate as much as we can.

I'm sorry but there is very little we can do on our side to fix this. We have attempted to mitigate the problem as much as possible, but we just don't have that much control over all of our users.

I recommend anyone who wants to continue to get email from the perfsonar-dev list do one of two things:

1) white-list perfsonar-dev in your spam filters (how much spam have you seen on the perfsonar-dev list?)

2) If you must use RBL's like spam-cop, then configure your spam filter to use those blocked in a weighted average. Blindly believing them is giving them 100% control over your email flow. (Spam-cop in particular is fairly militant.) For example, you could specify positive points for the email coming from 'perfsonar-dev' and negative points for coming from a spam-cop blocked server. This would at least allow measured control.

Thanks,
jeff
