Dear JRA/SA leader,
the GN2 activity "Geant Identity Provider" will build a (temporary)
Identity repository for early adopters of GN2 services not having (or
not having yet) an identity in an eduGAIN compatible Identity repository.

In order to support differentiated users access to your activity's
services, we need some input from you: what abstract "attributes" do you
think can be used to differentiate users? E.g., must you distinguish the
user's home organization, the home organization network domain, the
home organization type, the type of work the user is doing within the
organization, the specific project(s) she's working on, etc...? A few
lines of free text would already be a good start.

As a reference, here are some thoughts for users' differentiation in
perfSONAR
http://wiki.perfsonar.net/jra1-wiki/index.php/Tools_and_Roles
but do not feel constrained to follow this template.
However, bear in mind that the more granular you want to be in users'
differentiation, the more difficult it will be to map your "abstract"
requirements to concrete user's attributes supported by
existing/forthcoming standards (inetPerson, eduPerson, Schac....) and to
define a common vocabulary for them (i.e. what are the possible *values*
of these attributes).

It would be nice if you could send me some input by the end of October,
so that we can incorporate your requirements in the GIdP design document
(DS3.14.1) we're developing. Working drafts of DS3.14.1 are on GIdP's
wiki page:

Thanks & BR,
Maurizio
