I wholly endorse converting us to a SIG. It makes the most sense to me.

Thanks,

Here is this month's blog post.  I'm a bit late getting it out - sorry!
https://www2.internet2.edu/e/66332/l-66332-2021-03-12-cvl8k7/cvldbk/494173656?h=um_X914Bm6zdJ0JhyHfwZ9io48Kf1FkblnrptQFOBoQ

It seems we will no longer be getting stickers with Jesse's seal of
approval, because he's left Duke to join a private company.  I'm sure we
will all miss him and wish him the best of luck in his new position!

The NTAC chairs have been discussing the current Internet2 Working
Groups.  The idea behind Working Groups is that they should be fairly
short-lived and intended to accomplish a particular task - solving a
problem, making a recommendation, etc.  Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
and Birds of a Feather (BoFs) are long-term groups specializing in areas
of particular interest, but without a specific objective or need for
recommendation.  This seems to be an opportune time to discuss
converting the Security Working Group to be a Special Interest Group,
especially with Jesse's departure.  There are some points of order to be
ironed out, so I'm talking to Ryan Harden about those, but what do you
all think?  Please send me any feedback you have.  NTAC is on April 6,
so we have a tad more than a week.  Thanks!

Adair
