FYI
The magazine "New Scientist" has a recent editorial "Is telepresence the next big thing?"
Which reminded me of a thought construct I made in 2002 called "Norbert the conference robot".
Apparently Double Robotics is going to ship a telepresence robot for $2000 - just add an iPad for the screen and camera - while other vendors
have systems for about $10,000 based on Segway tech (maybe Segway will be revolutionary after all, just not how they expected).

("Norbert" looks embarrassingly crude now, even if he does have arms ...)
The longer NS article (login required) mentions 7-year-old Devon Carrow, who has severe allergies and uses a Vgo to attend school in Buffalo NY.
There are several articles in mainstream and tech media.
