OpenSAML doesn't technically require Xalan. I believe Shibboleth may, but
for reasons other than OpenSAML.

Mixing it all into the Sun memory leaks and everything else, it's a total
mess, and I have no idea anymore. Hopefully 2.0, xmlsec 1.3, etc will work
it out.

Fundamentally, use whatever works.
