A few of us were talking after the meeting, and it occurred to us that we
didn't nail down a specific target age or grade level. I'm not convinced
that we have to say "7th grade", but choosing elementary, middle, or high school
for our initial push is worth doing. Our folks have asked for some
guidance on who to target in our recruiting efforts. What do you all
think? George, since you've got some eager participants, what grade levels
are they? That's as good a way to start as anything, I think.

we
agreed too. We will find a couple of innovative teachers to watch/participate in the Thursday videos and then maybe in Mid-January they will meet as a whole and discuss how they have incorporated this into their classes. Is that right? Am I missing something? I want to make sure we all are on the same page. Kristen -----Original Message----- From: George Loftus [ Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2003 7:49 PM To: Subject: Lewis & Clark Once again I am regretting not having attended the Lewis & Clark presentation. I have heard from my friends at RINET and they have a (technically savvy, and amply supported) teacher who is very interested in participating in this event. So if others on this list have similar educators, L&C could be our first effort, and as we mentioned in Indy, it could lead to us starting to develop teams of teachers across the country who would be willing to work directly with each other on this and future projects. At Terry's suggestion, if we find several teachers who are willing to "sign on" to the L&C project, we should ask that they "share" what they experienced during a video conference between schools.
