The ESnet Site Coordinating Committee (ESCC)/Internet2 Joint Techs Workshop
will hold their annual winter session next week in Honolulu, HI. Hosted by the
University of Hawaii, the four-day conference brings together thought leaders
in the research and education community to explore and discuss important
technology issues and the latest advancements in next-generation
networking. The main plenary sessions held from January 21 – 23
will be netcast for worldwide viewing. For access to live streams, additional

high-performance networking technologies. Presentations next week will cover the new
high-performance nationwide Internet2 Network, the new ESnet4 network, future
Internet architectures, optical networking, advanced wireless networks, dynamic
circuit networking and control plane technologies, IPv6 deployment, network
measurement and performance, and network security. The 2008 Hawaii Joint Techs Workshop is part of the third
Techs In Paradise (TIP) event co-sponsored internationally to bring together
the North American and Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) community for a
week of meetings, workshops, and in-person collaboration. In addition to the
APAN Meeting and Joint Techs, TIP2008 will also include meetings of the
Internet Educational Equal Access Foundation (IEEAF), the Global Lambda
Integrated Facility (GLIF), TransPAC2 and the Hawaii Intranet Consortium, as
