Internet2 Congratulates Molly Broad on Appointment as President of the American Council on Education

 

Ann Arbor, Mich. - January 16, 2008 - Internet2 congratulates Molly Broad, a member of the Internet2 Board of Trustees, on her recent appointment as president of the American Council on Education (ACE). In her new role, Broad will lead ACE in its efforts to provide leadership and a unifying voice on key higher education issues and to influence public policy through advocacy, research, and program initiatives. Internet2 works closely with ACE on important technology policy issues facing the higher education community including broadband deployment and network neutrality.

 

"On behalf of the Internet2 community, I applaud Molly on this great accomplishment," said Doug Van Houweling, Internet2 president and CEO. "Molly's demonstrated leadership will serve the U.S. higher education community well."

 

Broad also previously served as chair of the Internet2 Board of Trustees and president of the University of North Carolina system. In her new role, she succeeds David Ward, who led ACE since September 2001 and also previously served as chair of the Internet2 Board of Trustees.
