Yes, otherwise if you had zero members in allow and 2 in deny, you would get -2 members in the composite group :)
Since the latest patch, the count doesn't include groups in the member count by default, but it can be enabled.
Does the count in the UI for the groups match the visualization count?

I don’t think composite factors are comsidered members of the owner group.
Maybe one of you deny’s are not in the allow’s? So only one is subtracted? Compare the subjectId of owner, and each factor to see for sure 😊
Thanks Chris

I’m going to take a stab at this, it’s my first time responding here.
Groups are members too.
Your composite group has two additional memberships from the groups themselves: NG_Users Deny, NG_Users_Allow, and the 70 individuals (72-2) = 72 memberships.

Good morning, fresh off Grouper training in Madison WI (it was fantastic!).
Question about math in the visualizer.
I have a composite group that indicates a total of 71 members. My reference groups are:
So if I do the math 72-2=70 should be the number of people I have within the composite group, but the visualizer says 71…as does the export in Excel.
Why is it that when one manually does the math, to calculate members within the composite group they come up with a different number than one that composite group indicates?
Note: I have been up since 4:30am EST, so if it is blatantly obvious…be kind.
Thanks, Jay
