Yes, that will work on a schedule.  If you want it instantaneous, a rule should be able to work, but there is currently no “then” part of a rule that adds a group to another group.  Let me know if you need me to add that.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Phil

I think you can do this with Grouper Loader. Have a look at the bit about rollup groups at https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/Grouper/Organization+hierarchies+via+the+grouper+loader

The bit that starts: “Below is the org rollup config (adds child groups (not grandchild etc) to the parent.  The grandchild is effectively a member since it is a cihld of the child...”

I think that’s what you’re after.

Regards
Dave

Can Grouper have a group composed of a: stem+wildcard, or folder name, or ??, so that any groups created with that stem (or in/under that folder) would automatically be added to an existing group? I couldn't see a way to specify such via the UI.

Use Case, given:

  • group: Aggregate
  • folder: Groups-For-Aggregate
    • group: subgroup-A
    • group: subgroup-B

I can manually add subgroup-A and B to group Aggregate, but if someone creates subgroup-C (alongside A and B), I'd like for it to automatically be added to Aggregate. What I want is for the people handling the subgroups not to have to remember that they need to add any new ones to the Aggregate group.
