One potential path is to use the full path or parts of the full path when provisioning to ensure uniqueness of names at the target. Something like this:

org:admin:its:allemployees turns into admin-its-allemployees at the target.

or by convention, name the groups with a prefix based on the containing folder:

org:admin:its:its_allemployees

This way you preserve your group name namespace and can continue use whatever names are most appropriate.

Best,
Bill

I was planning to provision groups into other systems in a flat structure. I don't want group names to be globally unique so we don't have, say two groups name allemployees.

Jared,

Can you share the rationale or what is driving the requirement?

Can grouper be set to ensure uniqueness across all group names, not just ones in the same folder?

I searched the forum archives and I found mentions of it in older versions but they seemed to focus on psp provisioning not uniqueness in grouper.

Thanks
