As a followup to my previous email, I have tried the following to
improve matters slightly, but without much success:

- Reducing changelog retention time from 14 days.
- Removing the indexes on the string* columns in
grouper_change_log_entry since the indexes were not being used. This
does reduce the disk space used and the rate of increase, but is not a
full solution.
- ANALYZE and VACUUM ANALYZE to improve query plans and clean up unused
space. This did nothing.
