We might be interested in this feature here, but it’s still in planning and proof of concept phase. We’d do Unix authentication against an LDAP (OID in that case). We were thinking of doing a second root stem (branch) for these groups. The first (course groups) is synced to Active Directory, the second to the OID with unix groups. I think this is easily doable in PSP. Preferably, only the groups under the second branch should have a GID, it’s not required for the others, but I don’t think it would be a problem if they had one (we can just ignore them), except maybe the large number of groups in the first branch We’ll have to be able to “import” the current groups with their current GID De : [mailto:] De la part de Chris Hyzer For 2.2 we will have integer id’s on groups: https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/Grouper/Integer+IDs+on+Grouper+objects However, is anyone planning on using that for Unix GID’s? Or do you do this already? I’m interested in putting some guidance on the wiki or seeing if there is more to develop in this area. i.e. do you use LDAP? Will the PSP be able to provision the GID’s? Or do you use some other software to manage the unix group assignments? Do you use a Grouper attribute to mark groups for Unix, or for certain Unix environments? Other details? Thanks, Chris |
