Hi Martin,

At Duke, we use both OIM and Grouper.  For a while now, we've been using Grouper notifications to provision groups in our internal systems including OIM, LDAP, and AD.  Grouper notifications tell you when a group has been created or deleted, when a membership has been added or deleted, etc..  So for every group that exists in our Grouper environment, we create a group in OIM.  The updates in OIM are done using their Java API.  I can share the code with you if you want.  Some of it is actually in github but it probably needs to be cleaned up first.

Subject: [grouper-users] Questions regarding the integration between Grouper and OIM

We are looking for a solution for groups management within our identity process and Grouper seems a very good one.

 

We are planning to use OIM as the Identity manager and we are wondering how to integrate OIM and Grouper.

 

Is there any university who has done that integration and would be willing to share their experience with us?

 

Kind of questions we have:

-          Where is the line which separates the responsibility between OIM and grouper (groups provisioning, groups membership, etc.)?

-          Is there any OIM-Grouper connector available?
