I will send more info, but in the meantime, where do you want the GID to come
from? A database table and Grouper will increment? (obviously sequence
might be better, but Im thinking in database vendor independent terms).
Thanks,
Chris

Subject: [grouper-users] Re: feedback on grouper documentation
Hi,
I'm new to grouper. I recently installed v1.5.3 with ldap authentication.
Everything is working fine. But recently I wanted to create a new grouptype
"unixgroup" with automatically generated gidnumbers, like it is described in
one of the mailing list topics. The grouptype was no problem, but I have
absolutely no idea how to define a hook and have it executed when a new group
is created.
I only found some hints in the 1.4.2 documentation, but you have to be
familiar with programming the grouper API to understand anything. The chapter
called "Getting started with hooks" is not very explanatory.
Apart from my feedback, can someone give me any hints regarding unixgroups?
Best wishes,
Dirk
