Ø  on clicking “Add members” and the text next to the Add button.  it’s a little confusing.

 

Ø  “or import a list of members from a file”.  it’s really “or perform Advanced Add Members functions”.  and i think this text should be more prominent so it is easier to find.

 

I don’t think advanced functions is descriptive enough… I changed it to be import a list of member (doesn’t say from file anymore).  This kind of thing we should probably add to the list for the UX designer to review if you strongly disagree.  Add it here and we can go over it at some point.

Ø  lastly, i don’t see where i would create composite groups in the new UI.  is it just not done yet?

 

Just finished that and its now up on the demo server… to view composite, you can see from the group screen under “more”, and to edit or create, click More actions -> Edit composite

I added a feature in the new 2.2 UI where you can validate user IDs pasted in the textarea (on the import members screen).  I  think this is along the lines of what you are asking about.  You can paste with comma separated, whitespace separated (including newlines), or semicolons.  This is built on the demo server if you want to try.

 

Here is an example:

some further clarification…

 

from some interaction with our users, what would be nice for the user is something like:

 

=searchterm

or

=term1,term2,term3

 

the latter one inherits the exact match so all terms are exact match searches.  This allows someone to paste in a user list (comma separated) and get just those users.  a real time saver coupled with a “select all” option if it exists in the result list.  so far, many folks make use of the comma separated list capability already.
