[AI] (Shilen) will document Upgrade Steps in the wiki.

[AI] (Chris) will document the new Lite UI in the wiki.

[AI] (Tom) will create Release Notes.

**Grouper 1.5 Release**

*UI and IE*

Gary noted that issues have been found with the Grouper Light UI in the IE 7 or IE 8 environment.

[AI] (Gary) will send Chris the _javascript_ error for the light UI in IE7 and IE8

*Postgress and DDL*

Chris and TomZ discussed Postgress issues with DDL. Jira items GRP 236 and GRP 237 deal with this.
Until the issues can be fixed, Chris suggested dropping constraints in the database while doing the testing.
[AI]  (TomZ) will do further testing of Postgress and registry and inform Chris of issues.

*Hash Character*

There are problems with CAS authentication when the Grouper Light UI includes URLs with a hash character in them.

[AI]  (Chris) will look into issues around the hash character in Java and investigate using a question mark for cases in which authentication doesn’t handle the hash mark.

*Import Export*

Chris noted that there are issues with import/export that become more critical with the new attribute framework

TomZ said that U. Memphis will use import/export during the upgrade from Grouper 1.3 to Grouper 1.5. It would be good to have a validation other than just looking at log files.

One suggestion was to use catalogs or abstracts of the data and have hashes over those. Another suggestion is to have a summary report. TomZ will create a Jira issue if needed.

*Invoker*

TomZ inquired if  there is a chance to not use the invoker anymore.  Java 6 allows use of a wildcard.

[AI] (TomZ) will send a link about the Java 6 approach and the invoker.

*Release Steps and Testing*

Testing with the various databases is ongoing. The goal is to have testing and documentation for Grouper 1.5 finished on Monday morning, Nov. 16.  Server builds could be done by Wed., Nov. 18.  Travel schedule could be a factor in timing next week.

[AI] (Shilen) will run web service and client tests.

[AI] (TomZ) will add a testing table to the wiki.

**Updates from Collaboration with Other Projects**

*KIM*

Chris is working on Grouper integration with KIM and will attend Kuali Days in San Antonio, Nov 17-18.  He is looking at the approach of using web services calls to delegate group operations to Grouper. Structure of the namespace depends partly on the extent of overlap of groups. It was noted that Kuali Rice could benefit from more useful, explicit error messages.

*uPortal and Grouper Integration*

TomB reported that a document on the objectives and deliverables of Grouper and UPortal Integration should be forthcoming.

Work will most likely ramp up early in 2010 on creating GAP (Groups and Permissions) inside uPortal, with a GAP interface on Grouper. The work already done by ESUP-Portail should be very helpful.

*COmanage and Grouper Integration*

Gary noted that the COmanage pilot calls have been suspended for now. Tom reported that at the COmanage-dev call on 29-Oct-09 it was mentioned that  the Grouper Admin UI is not simple to use within COmanage. It is hoped that the COmanage team will identify the key group management needs within COmanage so the Grouper UI can be tweeked accordingly.
