Hi Malathi,

As a DYNES co-PI here is my perspective:  DYNES is a virtual distributed instrument that can be used to request point-to-point circuits of a specified bandwidth between DYNES sites.   We are very interested in research projects using this instrument and  providing feedback on its interface/API.

However DYNES is not a GENI testbed and doesn't provide a fully reconfigurable infrastructure to support testing new network paradigms.

Is there a way your research can utilize the capability DYNES provides, rather than trying to directly take-over the end-servers?  Can you benefit from point-to-point reservations and utilize them from a higher-level set of services?

Thanks,

Shawn

Hi all,
Another example is ESnet's 100G ANI testbed.
Every time we reserve a time slot for use of the testbed, our our own OS image is loaded on the high-performance
hosts and root access is available to us.

This may be a good example for some DYNES participants who are
not using the DYNES end systems for actual production traffic.
