In looking for a good spot for the "Platform" menu, I'm inclined to move it to the bottom of the "my account" user menu - which itself is being attached to the user name / id in the upper right corner of the interface. 

A couple of thoughts about this:

• As it only serves a small number of informed users, placing it in this menu seems reasonable.  Were it more general purpose, I would not take this approach.
  
• It could be visually distinct, e.g. on a different background color.
  
• "Platform Administration" (long), "Platform Admin", "Administration", or "Global Settings" may be clearer labeling if the menu is to be subsumed.
  

Before I commit to this path, assent or dissent?
