Hooray!  Much, much thanks to all those who labored mightily, especially in these last few weeks, to move something out into the wild...  Let me know how widely I should promote this - should i wait a week or two til after the first wave has found some things that get quickly patched, or its as good as it gets for a few months or....

Regarding new interested parties, and their ability to add domesticated apps -
I gave a remote talk to the NCTrust federation a few days ago - the major topic was COmanage. Steve Hopper was the point person at the federation level, but campus folks around the room were interested as well. Maybe a few weeks away from even testing, but already prominent in their thinking.
As some of you already know, there is a "transition team" type report from ACT on federated identity management out and getting attention. http://www.actgov.org/actiac/documents/pdfs/TSG_Federated_Identity_Mngt_Final.pdf.  Lots of us having been chewing on its presentation of  globally unique identifiers, Shib, InCommon, etc. It also has a major section on COmanage near the end, which may or may not be accurate...
Lastly, the Federation of American Scientists (www.fas.org) staff and leadership are very interested. FAS is pretty visible in DC. They are building a set of virtual environment learning programs, using Second Life, etc for games and simulations of way cool things like Uruk (the oldest city in the world, ruins located in eastern Turkey. They use a wiki of scholarly experts to comment and drive the simulations. Lists, etc...They already do Shib and know a lot of Grouper - one of their virtual worlds is Croquet, and they work with Mark McCahill of Duke a lot). They are eager to test, have clue, and could contribute a domesticated Croquet back into the fold. Does that even make sense?  When should they start working with the alpha?
Ken
