*Discussion*
Rodger noted that the PIC and related sessions at the Member Meeting were well
attended. One topic that came up was open vs. closed SER. The situation here
is
complex; in addition to the code branches maintained at iptel.org
(production, a
principal experimental version, and Vaclav's experimental version, which
supports presence), there is also the OpenSER project
(http://www.openser.org).
The group discussed how to move forward with its XMPP work. Deke has set up
two
jabberd servers, one for production use at Penn and the other for the PIC WG
to
experiment with. Send Deke email if you want a user account and/or shell
access.
[ACTION] Rodger will send the PIC WG a matrix of XMPP clients to try.
[ACTION] Steve will draft a strawman proposal for PIC's XMPP work; others are
welcome to help.
[ACTION] Rodger will send notes to assorted mailing lists, asking for input on
PIC's XMPP plan.
Deke noted that Michael Gettes is available for the PIC calls on alternate
Thursdays. [ACTION] Deke will find out when Michael is next available for a
PIC
call.
