Looks pretty interesting. Reasonably large screen and resolution,
good media formats. A bit light on memory (~64MB usable?) and a bit
heavy in the hands (8.1 ounces). But yes, this looks like a very
interesting platform for at least im+voice.

Has anyone in this group played with integrated communications apps
on the Nokia 770? The 770, which went on sale in the US today, is an
interesting device (see [1]). It has WiFi, Bluetooth, a web browser,
and a media player; it is not a cellphone, comes with no softphone,
and has no in-line microphone jack (though presumably a Bluetooth
headset could be made to work). It's Linux-based (source code and an
SDK are available) and several minutes of Google sleuthing reveals a
few softphones that have been tested on it ([2] [3]). Evidently,
GAIM has also been ported to run on the Nokia 770.
It's refreshing to see some innovative thinking about mobile devices.
Moreover, the Nokia 770 seems like it might be a good platform for
experiments in campus-enabled mobile communications. Thoughts?
