Roger,

This group was originally conceived on an IETF working group model
which says that groups are formed for a purpose and, when that purpose
is completed, have a party and go out of existence. They are not
intended to be indefinitely ongoing entities.

If the charter is in play, then it should also be considered that the
group has fulfilled its purpose and simply go out of existence. This
isn't to say that the PIC group should go away, only that it should not
be automatically re-chartered without the same level of justification
that was required to form the group in the first place.

I also note that some of the questions below, although good, are
a bit specific for a charter. *Possibly* you would want to keep the
issues fairly general. What is the basis of the group? What are the
major goals? What are the general deliverables?

Subject: [wg-pic] Special Agenda: Today's PIC Working Group Call

As was discussed on the call last week, today's call will focus on
assessing the strategic direction and deliverables of the PIC workgroup,
and to provide those who cannot attend next week's in person meeting in
Philiadelphia. The agenda that I have proposed for workgroup meeting
will serve as today's agenda:

1. Review the current charter:
http://pic.internet2.edu/charter.html

Some Questions:
- Is the charter in need of revisions?
- If So, Which Sections?
- Should only RFC 3261 based solutions be in scope?
- What role should mobile devices play?
- What role should gateways (media, presence) play in our
strategy?
- What should the emphasis on rich presence be?
- What role should commercially available systems play in
Workgroup activities?
- Emphasize federation of systems?
- Should the workgroup offer a Commons like core infrastructure
to members?

Some Logistical Questions:
- Should we modify Meeting Time, Length and Frequency?
- Agenda Format: Should we reserve a spot on every agenda for a
topical discussion such as P2P, Mergers, Related News Items etc.
- Guest Speakers?

Please feel free to add to this list.

Starting Time: 4:00 PM US/Eastern
Occurs: Every Thursday
Duration: 1 hour maximum

To join the call, do one of the following:
a. Dial +1-734-615-7474 , +1-800-392-6130 or +1-866-411-0013
and enter access code 0125986
