To prime the discussion, here are a few feature requests...- Client support for session-based IM.
* H.350 support to allow clients to auto-config themselves with URI
and password once client has already authenticated to use the WiFi
network;
* Highlight SIP.edu reachability with click-to-dial directories of
SIP.edu-enabled schools;
* Kiosks allowing anonymous, configuration-free use;
* Client support for iLBC;
* Client support for location presence fuzzing;
* Location-specific resources shown on portal (e.g. URLs to speaker
bios, session evaluation, streaming video)
- per-session chat rooms
- per-organization chat rooms
- push-to-talk (which is just voice-based IM to person or chat rooms)
- SIMPLE/Jabber gateway?
- transfer call to/from SIP kiosk based on location
We're currently evaluating shtoom, a pure-python SIP UA that will have UI's for Windows, Linux, and Mac. Looks promising. And we're planning to buy a Mac for CRL so we can test the Mac as well as Windows and Linux clients.
