In trial-mode I don't expect to have to set it at all, that's the
network's job. But, if, for whatever reason, I decide to override
automatic location I don't want to have to think about where I can
set it. I should be able to set it wherever it's offered.

Would it ever conceivably happen that I'd be looking at the portal?
Yes, the portal has other information SIPc doesn't (at least today)
e.g., network congestion information.

Similarly, both the portal and SIPc will offer maps. It shouldn't
matter which one I happen to look at. They should both be right.
