Just a technical note on that: to leverage hijacking, your SIP device
must be able to use an outbound proxy server for all its communication.
Currently, I'm not in my office and cannot test any SIP device except
my PC's windows messenger, which works. Just set outbound proxy in
Tools->Options->accounts->advanced->server name. Then, messenger sends
my iptel.org registration to ser.uits.columbia.edu and gets hijacked
by SER sitting there.
When people try to make calls using the hijacking server, both
hijacked destinations as well as "homers" will be tried (in this
order). Hijacked users just need to be aware they are only reachable
for callers using the hijacking server.
